Reports: Anushka Sharma to play the role of Jhulan Goswami in her biopic

Jhulan Goswami, the veteran Indian women cricketer is arguably one of the best fast bowlers that India has ever produced in its cricket history. She is a legendary player when it comes to women’s cricket and her valuable contribution with the ball cannot be overlooked.

Now, there are certain reports that Bollywood seems interested in revealing her life story for the audience through her biopic. Moreover, the chances are quite high that Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma and wife of Indian skipper Virat Kohli is going to play Jhulan’s role on the big screen.

Jhulan Goswami- the 37-year-old made her debut for Team India back in 2002 and emerged to be one of the best bowlers for the national side. She donned Indian jersey in as many as 10 Tests, 182 ODIs and 68 T20Is in which she managed to grab 321 international wickets. Goswami is the leading wicket-taker in women’s ODIs.

Despite moving towards the flag end of her career, she is still determined to give a valuable contribution to the national side. She is well prepared to work as a bowling coach or consultant after bidding farewell to international cricket.

Jhulan Goswami’s biopic in the making

Bollywood has certainly tasted a lot of success by making biopics based on famous sports personalities. Movies like MS Dhoni-The untold story, Marry Kom, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag received lots of praises from the fans. Making biopics on sports personalities has been a trend in Bollywood lately.

Now, another story of legendary Indian women bowler Jhulan Goswami is lined up to get on the 70 mm screen for the fans. The much-awaited biopic will be directed by Vivek Krishnani, who has previously delivered some brilliant movies in the Bollywood.

As far as reports are concerned, Anushka Sharma will reach Kolkata on  Saturday for the shooting that is expected to take place in Eden Gardens. Also, the ground and dressing room will be made vacant for the same. There are chances that Jhulan Goswami will also be present there in the stadium to help the actress. Later on, Goswami might accompany Anushka to Mumbai for another part of the shooting.
