Former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has showered praises on the current Indian skipper Virat Kohli. Tendulkar shared a congratulatory message for Virat after the latter smashed yet another ODI ton. Playing against South Africa at the Newlands, Cape Town, in the third ODI of the 6-match series, Virat Kohli scored an unbeaten 160 off 159 deliveries.

His knock was embellished with 12 fours and a couple of maximums. Kohli had arrived at the crease in the very second over of the match. Indian opener, Rohit Sharma, failed to get runs under his belt and perished for a duck on the final delivery of the very first over of the match. Kohli, who replaced Sharma at the crease, stitched a handy 140-run stand for the second wicket along with Shikhar Dhawan.

After the dismissal of Shikhar Dhawan, the runs were hard to come by. But Kohli kept rallying along from one end. At the other end, batsmen came and headed back to the pavilion. It was the Indian captain Virat Kohli who held the Indian innings together. Eventually, his unbeaten knock helped India cross the 300-run mark on what was expected to be a batting beauty but had turned out to be a tricky track.

Nonetheless, Kohli’s effort certainly lightened up the stands. Praises came in flooding from all corners for the Indian captain. Veteran Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh hailed Kohli as a player of a different level altogether. And now, even legendary former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar feels the same. Tendulkar, in his tweet for Virat Kohli, remarked that stepping out on the field and scoring tons has become a habit for the Indian captain.

He congratulated Kohli for his 34th ODI ton. He wished that the runs should keep flowing the same way from Kohli’s bat. It is worth noting that Kohli, with 34 ODI centuries, is next to only Sachin Tendulkar in the list of the cricketers with most ODI centuries.

Here is what Sachin Tendulkar tweeted for Virat Kohli:

“Stepping out on the field and scoring centuries has become a regularity for @imVkohli. Congratulations on your 34th ODI ton! Keep the runs flowing always. #INDvsSA,” Sachin Tendulkar wrote in his tweet.
