The T20 World Cup 2022 is just a few days away from starting in Australia and the fans have been eagerly waiting for the mega ICC event for a year now. The Super 12 stages of the tournament will start off with the hosts Australia taking on the runners up of the previous edition, New Zealand on October 22 while the qualifiers begin on October 16.
Scotland, West Indies, Ireland and Zimbabwe are placed in the same group for the qualifiers and the top two teams from this group’s T20 World Cup 2022 points table will make it to the Super 12 stages. Among the fixtures, Scotland squaring off against Ireland will be an interesting fixture considering that both teams have named strong T20 World Cup squads.
Scotland have been in decent form coming into the T20 World Cup 2022 qualifiers and they certainly have the resources to perform well. Ireland meanwhile have managed to produce a lot of upsets to the big nations and they managed to outclass Afghanistan at home in the T20I series.
The two nations will meet on October 19 at the Blundstone Arena in Tasmania.
