The 55th game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 featured a clash between the four-time champions Chennai Super Kings and the David Warner-led Delhi Capitals at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Wednesday, May 10.
However, before the game, a video from an incident from the Chennai training session has been doing the rounds on social media. In the video, pacer Deepak Chahar was seen having a chat with bowling coach Dwayne Bravo.
It was at that moment that skipper MS Dhoni walked past Chahar and tried to prank the 30-year-old. Dhoni tried to slap the back of Chahar’s head in a hilarious moment. However, the Indian pacer dodged the slap at the last moment.
Talking about the game, Chennai Super Kings came in to bat first and looked to notch up a big total on the board for Delhi to chase. However, the four-time champions got off to a slow start in the first innings as man-in-form Devon Conway failed to make an impact and he was sent back for just 10 runs in 13 balls.
Ruturaj Gaikwad also only managed to amass 24 runs to his name before he was dismissed. Shivam Dube was the highest run-getter for Chennai with 25 runs to his name but with cameos from Ajinkya Rahane, Ambati Rayudu, Ravindra Jadeja, and MS Dhoni, Chennai notched up 167.
Mitchell Marsh put in an excellent performance with the ball. The Australian all-rounder took three wickets and conceded 18 runs in the three overs he bowled. Axar Patel took two wickets as well and conceded 27 runs in four overs. Furthermore, Khaleel Ahmed, Lalit Yadav, and Kuldeep Yadav took one wicket each.
Currently, Delhi Capitals find themselves in 10th place in the IPL points table with eight points in 10 games, on the other hand, Chennai find themselves in second place with 13 points in 11 matches.
