The ongoing IPL 2024 season is over for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) after their loss in the Eliminator match against Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Wednesday, May 22. But the criticism from former cricketers over their repeated failures continues.
Former India cricketer-turned-commentator Ambati Rayudu, has once again taken a swipe at RCB's management and players through a social media post, questioning their priorities.
Ever since RCB's exit from the IPL 2024, Rayudu has been vocal about the franchise's shortcomings. His latest comments come after RCB's star batter Virat Kohli topped the season's run-scoring charts with 741 runs, though he is yet to win an IPL title after 17 seasons with the team.

Ambati Rayudu urges RCB to bring players who will prioritize the team
Rayudu expressed sympathy for RCB fans who have supported the team passionately over the years despite the lack of an IPL trophy. However, he went on to criticize the management and leadership for prioritizing individual milestones over the team's interests.
"My heart truly goes out to all the RCB supporters who have passionately supported the team over the years. If only the management and the leaders had the team's interests ahead of individual milestones. RCB would have won multiple titles. Just remember how many fantastic players have been let go. Force your management to bring players who will put the team's interests first. A great new chapter can start from the mega auction,” wrote Rayudu on his X handle.

The former Indian cricketer urged the franchise fans to push for bringing in players who will prioritize the team over personal goals and milestones for lifting their maiden IPL title. With just two more games left in the tournament, three teams are still in contention to lift the title.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have already reached the finals and will face the winners of Qualifier 2 which will be between RR and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).
