Sarah Taylor has been in the news over the last couple of weeks courtesy of her glove work behind the stumps. An impressed Adam Gilchrist called her the best wicketkeeper in the world at the moment across both Men’s and Women’s cricket. Justifying the legendary keeper batsman’s praises, Sarah, on Thursday, completed 50 stumpings in the Twenty20 Internationals becoming the first to do so.

Across the Men’s and the Women’s T20Is, no other keeper has affected even 40 stumpings. Pakistan Women’s keeper Batool Fatima is 2nd on the list with 39 stumpings. In Men’s T20I cricket the record for most stumpings is held by Kamran Akmal. During the final league game in the ongoing T20I Tri-Series against New Zealand, Sarah stumped Jess Watkin in Natalie Sciver’s bowling to complete the milestone. Later, the 29-year-old scored a 37-ball 51 with seven fours before getting stumped off Amelia Kerr’s bowling.

The stumping of Jess Watkin is also the 100th stumping in International cricket affected by Sarah Taylor, thereby making her the first player with 100 stumpings in Women’s International cricket. Adding to the 50 T20I stumpings, Sarah affected 48 in ODIs and two in Tests. Batool Fatima’s 87 stumpings are the most when it comes to Women’s cricket.

Overall, Sarah Taylor is only the 4th player with 100 and more stumpings in International cricket across Men’s and Women’s formats. In addition, she took just 201 matches to reach this milestone making her the quickest as the likes of MS Dhoni and Kumar Sangakkara needed more than 300 matches.

Till date, Sarah Taylor has effected 215 dismissals including the 115 catches behind the stumps. Her tally of 215 is the highest in Women’s International cricket. Sarah surpassed Trisha Chetty’s tally of 213 dismissals with the three stumpings in the ongoing T20I Triangular series.

Chetty was dropped from the ongoing South Africa Women’s tour of England which allowed Sarah to go past her. The England keeper’s 72 dismissals in T20Is are the most in Women’s cricket but still need 26 in ODI cricket to go past the current leader Chetty (151).
