T20 World Cup 2021 Points Table and Team Standings after India vs New Zealand Match

New Zealand decimated the Indian side with 8 wickets and 33 balls to spare in the 28th Match of the 2021 edition of the T20 World Cup. Kane Williamson and his men were set a paltry target of 111 by India, and the Black Caps stormed home with ease.

Daryl Mitchell top-scored with a superb 49 off 35 deliveries for the Kiwis. Apart from Mitchell, Martin Guptill and Kane Williamson also contributed 20 and 33*. With the ball, Jasprit Bumrah scalped both wickets to fall for the New Zealand outfit.

India produced a poor performance with the willow and could only muster a total of 110/7 in 20 overs. Ravindra Jadeja top-scored with 26*, while Hardik Pandya scored a 24-ball 23. Apart from these 2 batsmen, no Indian batsman crossed the 20-run mark.

Trent Boult was the pick of the bowlers. The left-arm seamer scalped 3 wickets in his 4-over spell and gave away only 20 runs. Apart from Boult, Ish Sodhi picked up 2 wickets as well. With this win, the New Zealand side has moved to 3rd place in the points table, while the Indian side is stationed at the 5th spot.

Afghanistan thrash Namibia by 62 runs

The Afghanistan side produced a complete performance to hammer the Namibia outfit by 62 runs. Batting first, Afghanistan piled up a total of 160/5 on the board. Mohammad Shahzad top-scored for the Afghanistan side with a classy 45 off 33 deliveries.

The likes of Asghar Afghan, Hazratullah Zazai, and Mohammad Nabi scored thirties to propel the Afghanistan side past the 150-run mark. Ruben Trumpelmann and Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton picked up 2 wickets each with the ball.

The Namibia side produced a poor performance in reply. Apart from David Wiese, who scored 26, not even a single Namibia batsman could cross the 20-run mark. And, the Gerhard Erasmus-led outfit could only muster a total of 98/9 in their 20-over quota.

Naveen-ul-Haq and Hamid Hassan scalped 3 wickets each, while Gulbadin Naib prized out 2 willow wielders. With this dominating performance, Afghanistan has moved to 2nd place in the table, while Namibia are placed at the 4th spot.
