Top 5 Batsmen Fastest to reach 18 centuries (by innings) in ODI: Making a century in any format is a very big achievement and a difficult thing. Making lots of them in the One Day format, and that too in very less time and innings is another skill-set altogether.
Here are 5 batsmen who reached their 18th century in One Day Internationals in least number of innings:
5. Chris Gayle (West Indies)- 185 innings
The big West Indian who is known for his power hitting has scored 37 international centuries and was the first batsmen to score centuries in all the three formats of international cricket. He is also one of the 4 Test batsmen to score 2 triple hundreds in Test cricket.
Gayle’s 18th century came in a loss to Pakistan in the 3rd and final ODI of the 3 match series. Pakistan had scored 273 thanks to Younis Khan’s 101. West Indian reply was limited to Gayle’s 122 and Ramnaresh Sarwan’s 62 runs. West Indies made just 242 and lost the match by 31 runs.
