Virat Kohli couldn't ask for a better company at lunch

Virat Kohli, India’s all-format captain, is currently on a break as Rohit Sharma is captaining the Indian cricket team in the 2018 Asia Cup in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). He developed a minor back injury after which he was rested for the ongoing 50-overs event. Prior to the series, many reckoned that the India batting would be weakened due to Kohli’s absence.

However, that hasn’t been the case thus far as India have churned out some impressive performances in the Asia Cup. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) earlier put emphasis on the players needing adequate rest in order to avoid burnouts. The 29-year-old, apart from playing international cricket, has also played franchise cricket in the cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL).

He was also scheduled to play for Surrey in the English County Championship, but his back injury eventually ruled him out of his maiden county stint. He is most likely to don the national colours during India ‘s Test, ODI and T20I series against the Windies in October and November. In the meantime, the Delhi-born cricketer is having a gala time with his loved ones.

Today, he had lunch at Nueva, India’s first Latin American and Peruvian restaurant. He had Anushka Sharma, the Bollywood actress whom he got married to back in December 2017, for company. Vikas Kohli, Virat’s elder brother and three of Virat’s friend were also there. The Indian batsman uploaded a picture on Twitter where he can be seen with Anushka, Vikas and three others.

He also mentioned that he couldn’t have asked for a better company. He took to the social media platform and wrote, “Great lunch today at @nueva_world, food was outstanding and the company couldn’t have been better. Great place for food lovers like us. #Favourite #Nueva PS- Don’t miss the chimichuri mushrooms!”
