Virender Sehwag trolls himself on Twitter on Raksha Bandhan day

Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag is as fluent on Twitter as he was with the bat. And a good thing about this man is that his posts on the micro-blogging site are more about fun than arguments and he doesn’t even hesitate to troll himself. The man has a truly sporting spirit. The 39-year-old former cricketer made the headlines on Sunday (August 26) again for a tweet on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.
Sehwag, India’s only batsman to hit two triple centuries in Tests, posted a couple of pictures on social media with his sisters tying Rakhi on his hands. In the picture were his sisters – Anju ji and Manju ji – and he described himself as ‘Ganju ji’ (Mr bald-headed). “Celebrating the wonderful inseparable bond that is Raksha Bandhan. With my lovely sisters Anju ji and Manju ji , I Ganju ji 🙂 Wishing you all a very #HappyRakshaBhandan,” he wrote.
The cricketer lost a substantial chunk of his hair from the front part during his playing days. It is typical of men from the Indian sub-continent to loose hair as baldness is a commonly observed phenomenon. Sehwag tried his best to retain his look and underwent hair transplantation to recover it subsequently.

Sehwag, a social media star
Viru retired from international cricket in 2013 after playing for almost 14 years and turned into a social media star besides a commentator. His “Ganju ji” tweet was no less popular as it was retweeted 2,535 times at the time of writing this report while it received over 35,000 likes. The tweet also received all sorts of reply – from funny to genuine reciprocation on the auspicious occasion.
Sehwag played 104 Tests, 251 ODIs and 19 T20Is for India between 1999 and 2013. He scored 8,586 runs in Tests; 8,273 runs in ODIs and 394 runs in T20Is besides taking 136 international wickets. He also scored 38 international hundreds, including a couple of triple centuries against Pakistan and South Africa in 2004 and 2008, respectively.
