Due to the outbreak of coronavirus, all cricket events in the country and throughout the globe have been cancelled. The lockdown has restricted people from leaving their homes and this, in turn, has created a situation which is quite problematic for everyone. Several cricketers are using this time to interact with fans. Furthermore, former cricketers and experts are also making their personal all-time favourites list on social.

Former Indian batsman Wasim Jaffer chose his all-time ODI XI. There were a few surprises but mostly they were famous legends you would see in several lists of all-time One-day International side. For the openings slot, Jaffer included Sachin Tendulkar and Rohit Sharma. Both of these players have played with Jaffer at the domestic level for Mumbai.

Wasim Jaffer includes four Indians in his side

At number 3, it was the West Indian great Sir Vivian Richards while it was followed by Indian captain Virat Kohli and former South African captain AB de Villiers. Ben Stokes, the all-rounder from England, who had a terrific 2019 was selected at number 6. MS Dhoni was the captain of the side along with the wicketkeeper of the team as well. Wasim Akram, Joel Garner and Glenn McGrath were chosen as three pacers in the line-up.

The West Indian fast bowler Garner was one of the greatest of his time while Akram and McGrath were are also legends of the game. For the spinner’s spot, Wasim did not make a clear choice. He chose both Shane Warne from Australia or Saqlain Mushtaq from Pakistan and kept it in a way that either of the spinners could be chosen.

Both the players were great pinners in the ODI format during that time and it is hard actually difficult to choose between either of them. He also chose the 12th man in the side and that spot went to the former Australian captain, Ricky Ponting.

Wasim Jaffer was the most prolific batsman in domestic cricket during his career. He had played Ranji Trophy for Mumbai and Vidarbha. The right-handed batsman is the all-time highest run-getter in Ranji Trophy cricket as well. He had played 31 Tests for India between 2002 and 2008. He scored 1944 runs with five centuries to his name, two of which were double centuries.
