Tamim used to be a batsman who had no intention of caring about the bowlers of opponents in his early cricketing days. But, now he is a completely changed man in the middle. He loves to play the role of anchor in Bangladesh’s batting lineup. The only Bangladeshi batsman, whose total centuries have the passed double-digit (11 in ODIs) in a single format of international cricket, is Tamim Iqbal.

He touched three-digit figure twice in his last three ODIs against Windies in July 2018. He played the pivotal role for his national team to win ODI and T20 series respectively against the hosts. The new characteristics of Tamim’s batting have turned out to be fruitful for Bangladesh and this could again be a big plus point for the Tigers in Asia Cup.

Tamim has played 182 ODIs in his decade-long career. He has scored more than six thousand runs in the 50-over format. His vast experience, controlling ability and winning mentality could be a beneficial factor for Bangladesh in the Asia Cup.
