Bangladesh’s premier fast bowler Al-Amin Hossain can now feel a sigh of relief after his bowling action got cleared to play at any level. Bangladesh Cricket Board Bowling Action Review Committee confirmed the news on Thursday. His action suffered some deviations that breached ICC‘s bowling action rules but after making few amendments as per the rules, the bowler is up and ready to bowl for his country.

Earlier, he was reported for an illegal bowling action in the recently concluded edition of Bangladesh Premier League, in the match between Khulna Titans and Comilla Victorians, subsequently forcing him to miss the entire season that followed.

Not the first instance

This is not the first time when the bowler has been accused of such penalties, even in September 2014, he was reported for a suspect bowling action in the first Test against Windies at St.Vincent. Later, the paceman got cleared after conducting some tests in India asking him to bring slight modification in his action. This was a major setback for him as he had tasted much success with his pre-modified action that helped him succeed overseas in tough conditions.

Board confirmed the news

The chief of the Bowling Action Review committee Jalal Yunus said, “Test revealed no further illegality of action in Al – Amin Hossain’s bowling. He is allowed to play from the second round of the Bangladesh Cricket League.”Jalal Yunus added as per quotes on bd crictime.

“We informed him that someone would be banned for a year if he will be reported twice in two consecutive years. Al – Amin acknowledged about some deviations in several of his deliveries which he corrected. I hope there will be no more further troubles occurred in his bowling in the future.”

Amin is now allowed to play in the second round of the sixth edition of the Bangladesh Cricket League(BCL) with a modified action. After a lean phase in his career, the bowler would be excited to once again dawn up on the green jersey to represent the country at the game’s highest level.
