England opening batsman Alex Hales has selected his all-time eleven with the England Test captain Alastair Cook and the former Indian opener Virender Sehwag open the batting for his side. He said that the left hand-right hand combination will work really well as they would complement each other.

“I think they complement each other pretty well being a left-hand right-hand combination. One more look to bat all day and one will look to whack the ball over the park,” he said.

Former Australian skipper Ricky Ponting comes at no.3, who is one of the leading Test run-getters of all-time. One of the greatest left-handed batsmen, Brian Lara of West Indies comes in at no.4 and Kumar Sangakkara of Sri Lanka takes the gloves for his side being one of the best batsmen the island country had ever produced.

All-rounders, Jacques Kallis of South Africa and Garfield Sobers of West Indies came in at 6 and 7. The left-arm pacer Sobers and right-arm faster Kallis can shatter the stumps of any batsman and their batting capability adds value to their selection.

Muttiah Muralitharan, the most successful bowler in Test cricket comes in at 8. He said that he had played a few matches against him and had no idea which direction the ball was spinning. Australian spin legend Shane Warne is at 9.

As he has done with his openers, all-rounders, and spinners, the pace bowling department is also about complementing each other. Left-arm pacer Wasim Akram and right-arm pacer Glenn Mcgrath complete his eleven.
