Former England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff, who has represented the country in 79 Tests, 141 ODI’s and 7 T20’s will join the likes of former English skipper Nasser Hussain, David Lloyd, and Rob Key in the commentary box for the upcoming NatWest T20 Blast.

Flintoff’s first game as a commentator in the tournament will be in the Saturday’s Midlands derby between Birmingham and Nottinghamshire. The former Lancashire man will be part of the commentary box at Edgbaston on the 2nd of September. Flintoff’s occupation has seen a shift from the game of cricket, to the game of Boxing before squaring back to the game that gave him the popularity.

To kick off things, the former English all-rounder and his good friend Rob Key played a game of ‘Have You Ever?’, with it resulting in some hilarious build-up to the tournament. Freddie, also revealed that he used the celebrity status of Rob Key for a laugh. Freddie then answered about how to lose weight quickly, before it backfired on him. The question ‘Have you ever cheated at sport?’ led to an excellent impression of the former team-mate, Darren Gough.

“I’m really looking forward to it,” Flintoff, who will commentate on at least eight games said of his new role to Sky Sports.

“Most of the stuff I have done since retiring hasn’t involved cricket but around cricket and around cricketers is where I feel most comfortable.I watched most of Lancashire’s games at Old Trafford last year and I’ve been watching on TV and seen Keysy, Bumble and Nasser in the Pod – it looked like they were having a good time.” said the 39-year-old.

It would be interesting to see the all-rounder in the commentary box after his stint in the box in the Big Bash, where he was a prominent figure.

“I got asked and thought ‘that will be brilliant’. The competition itself is just as good as the IPL or the Big Bash, if not better, and hopefully, I can add something to it for the viewers on Sky Sports. I’m just going to enjoy it.” concluded Flintoff.
