Australian club cricketer Aled Carey achieved a rarest of rare feat in the cricketing arena which he will surely boast of for the remainder of his life. While every bowler dreams of taking a hat-trick in a cricket match, but this bloke went a step further and pulled off an extremely rare feat. Right-arm medium pacer Cartey claimed a wicket in each delivery of the 9th over in a Ballarat Cricket Association four-team fixture match in Victoria.

Playing for the Golden Point Cricket Club, Cartey was unable to pick a wicket in his first 8 overs but the 29-year-old changed the whole complexion of the match in his 9th over. While his first hat-trick came in the form of caught behind, caught at slips and LBW, he castled all three batsmen to pick up his 2nd hat-trick of the match.

“There were only a handful of spectators watching but someone from the crowd sensed something special was happening and managed to record Aled’s fifth and sixth wickets. John Ogilvie, the secretary of Golden Point, told BBC Sport. We’ve got the ball in the safe and we will make a trophy to present to Aled at our awards night in April to celebrate his feat. Aled has been at Golden Point for many years and says the club is part of his family,” John Ogilvie, secretary of Golden Point was quoted as saying by the BBC Sport.

Courtesy his brilliant performance with the ball East Ballarat were bowled out for a mere 40 runs and the bowler himself was “amazed” with his own performance.

“I was shocked and overwhelmed. I still cannot believe it. I’m very happy. My dad was present at the time and saw the whole thing. He was very happy and proud of me,”Cartey was quoted as saying by the Deccan Chronicle.

Comparing between hitting six sixes in an over and grabbing six wickets, Corey said, “well I would probably say they are equal because they are very hard things to do, you don’t see either done very often but yes, taking six wickets in six balls is rather uncommon,” he opined.
