The IPL will turn 10 on 5th April, as Bollywood stars will once again take centre stage and kick off the extravagant league in Hyderabad in the opening ceremony before the first game between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bangalore. However, in this year, Hyderabad will not be the only city entitled to an opening ceremony. That’s right, the tenth edition of the IPL will see as many as eight opening ceremonies in the home grounds of each franchise. Opening ceremonies will be held at Hyderabad, Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata, Mohali, Mumbai, Pune and Rajkot.

According to reports, Bollywood heartthrob Tiger Shroff will perform on his chartbusters in a scintillating performance before a match between Kings XI Punjab and the Royal Challengers Bangalore. The Baaghi superstar’s performance will also feature songs from his mentor Hrithik Roshan’s movies, which includes “Dhoom Machale”. Tiger will also be accompanied by his mother Ayesha as they kick off proceedings before the action-packed game between the two sides.

On the other hand, his co-star from Baaghi Shraddha Kapoor will get fans grooving in Kolkata. She is all set to perform on her chartbusters as well, and is already undergoing rehearsals for the star-studded event. Shraddha’s father Shakti Kapoor will also be present at the Eden Gardens and cheer his daughter on. The veteran actor, who interestingly was a state-level cricketer himself and is a die-hard fan of the game, will support King Khan’s team Kolkata Knight Riders as they take on their opponents.

Bollywood has had a lasting impression on the Indian Premier League from the very first season of the cash-rich tournament. Fans have flocked to stadiums to watch their favourite superstars perform at opening ceremonies over the years. Last year’s opening ceremony witnessed performances by Katrina Kaif, Ranveer Singh, Jacqueline Fernandez and rapper Honey Singh. Major Lazer, the American dancehall reggae group, also featured in the line-up. ‘Champion’ cricketer-singer Dwayne Bravo shook a leg on his chartbuster, “Champion.” Bravo shared the stage with playback singer Ankit Tewari who sang an Indian version of “Champion”, titled “Hindustan Mein Bade Bade Champion”.

As the 10th edition of the IPL kicks off in another 4 days, fans will look forward to getting a glimpse of their favourite celebrities taking the stage in the numerous opening ceremonies that are to come.
