Bangladesh play 35 Tests as per new FTP, tour India in 2019-20

Bangladesh are set to travel to India for an extended tour in 2019-20 season as they play Tests and ODIs this time unlike February 2017 where they played just a single Test. They travelled to the neighbouring country after 17 years to play their first-ever Test on Indian soil.

As per the new proposed FTP (Future Tour Programme), the Bangladeshi side is set to play as many as 35 games in the whites which is more than Pakistan. India, Australia, and England are the only sides who feature in more Tests than Bangladesh.

33 Tests proposed

As per their current FTP, they play 33 games but once they have an approval for the proposed FTP from the ICC, they play 2 more. England are slated to play a total of 46 Tests during the same timeline which is the most. Following them are Australia and India as they play 40 and 37 respectively.

Among the top Test playing nations, Pakistan plays the least number of matches as they are set to feature in just 28 Tests in that period. West Indies will play 29 matches, New Zealand 28, South Africa 32, Sri Lanka 29, and Zimbabwe 17 during the 2019-23 season as per the new FTP. New Entrants, Afghanistan and Ireland will feature in as many as 13 and 16 games respectively.

The ODIs

As far as the one-dayers are concerned, Bangladesh will play 45 ODIs during the season with West Indies playing as many as 62 fifty-over games followed by India who play 61 ODIs in the 2019-23 season. 2015 World Cup winner Australia will play 48 ODIs and follow their footprints are the Island nation Sri Lanka who plays the same number of games.

New Zealand and South Africa will 45 ODIs each. As per the new FTP England will get to play 43 ODIs, Ireland 42, Afghanistan 41, Zimbabwe 40 and Pakistan 38.

In T20Is, Bangladesh gets to play 42 matches while India leads with the most number of games (61) under their belt. World T20 champions West Indies will play 56 matches during the season.
