Just a day before locking horns with the mighty Aussies, the Bangladesh cricket team tried out a different sport. Shifting away from their forte, the Tigers had a fun time playing a football match against the Footy Hags at the Old DOHS Ground. The new venture turned out to be a fruitful one for the team as they not only played the match but also won it in style.

The match:

The Bangladesh cricket team were seen in their green kit while the Footy hags donned the color red. Batsman Sabbir Rahman opened the scoring for the Tigers as he guided a fantastic drive along the ground into the net capitalizing on a failed clearance from the goalkeeper. It was an early breakthrough for the team as the first goal came in the 3rd minute of play.

The Tigers doubled their lead in the 9th minutes when again a failed goalkeeper clearance landed the ball right in front of the well positioned Anamul Haque Bijoy. He did no mistake in burying the ball into the net to give the Tigers a 2-0 lead. Nasir Hossain put the match to sleep in the 23rd minute as he blasted a left footed shot from a difficult angle which ended up to be the 3rd goal for the Tigers.

However, Hags opened their scoring in the 30th minute of the match with a nicely placed shot from inside the penalty box. Skipper Shakib Al Hasan made it 4-1 in the closing minutes of the game from a corner which can be termed as a scrappy goal. The match ended on a high note for the Tigers and the win will certainly boost them to be at their best against the Aussies. Magnito Digital was the digital partner of this unique event.
