Bangladesh recorded a historic 109-run win against England after bundling the visitors for just 164 in the 2nd innings at Dhaka to level the series. Resuming on 152/3 on day 3, Bangladesh were bowled out for 296 in their 2nd innings. Chasing 273 to win, England were going strong with 100/0 at Tea. But Mehedi Hasan and Shakib Al Hasan turned the tables by taking all the 10 wickets in a span of 23 overs for 64 runs. Here we look at all the stats and records recorded during the day.

3 – Cook-Duckett’s century opening stand is England’s 3rd century stand in the fourth innings of a Test in Asia.

5 – This series is only the 5th two-match Test series in which all 80 wickets fell. Last such series was West Indies vs Pakistan in 2005.

6 – Mehedi Hasan became the 6th bowler to take three five-wicket hauls in his first two Tests. Clarrie Grimmet, Tom Richardson, Sydney Barnes, Narendra Hirwani, and Rodney Hogg are the other 5 players.

9 – Mehedi Hasan became the 1st Bangladeshi and 9th player in overall to win Man of the series in debut Test series. Rohit Sharma was the last player to win Man of the series in debut Test series.

10 – Kamrul Islam Rabbi became the 10th batsman to get off the mark in Test cricket with six. He is the 4th Bangladeshi to do so.

12/159 – Mehedi Hasan’s bowling figures of 12/159 are the best match figures in a Test for a Bangladeshi player. Enamul Haque’s 12/200 vs Zimbabwe in 2005 are the previous best by a Bangladeshi.

19 – Number of wickets taken by Mehedi Hasan in this two-match Test series. These are the most by a player in his debut two-match Test series. Australia’s John Ferris picked up 18 wickets vs England in 1887.

19 – Number of wickets taken by Mehedi Hasan in this series, the most by a Bangladeshi in a Test series. Previous record: 18 wickets by Enamul Haque and Shakib Al Hasan.

19y 3d – Age at which Mehedi Hasan picked up a 10-wicket match haul, he became the 5th youngest and 2nd youngest Bangladeshi to take a 10-wicket match haul in Test cricket.

38 – Wickets taken by Bangladeshi spinners in this series, the most by any team’s spinners in a 2-match Test series. Previous most was 33 wickets also by Bangladesh vs West Indies in 2009.

40 – For the first time Bangladesh has taken all 40 wickets in a two-match Test series. In fact, these are the 2nd most wickets taken by Bangladesh in a Test series. They picked up 43 wickets in 3-match series vs Pakistan in 2003.

57 – Keeping dismissals made by Jonny Bairstow in 2016, the most by any England keeper in a calendar year in Tests. Matt Prior made 56 dismissals as keeper in 2010.

62 – Wickets taken by spinners in this series, the most by spinners in a 2-match Test series. Previous most was 55 wickets in India-Pakistan series in 1998.

64 – Runs added by England after losing their first wicket in a Test innings. This is their joint 3rd lowest aggregate for last nine wickets by a team in Tests after a century opening stand.

296 – Bangladesh’s total in the 2nd innings of this test is the highest team total in this series. This is the 5th two-match Test series where no 300+ scores were recorded. (Min: 8 team innings)
