Bangladesh’s Mustafa Kamal resigns from the ICC President post: Mustafa Kamal has today resigned from the post of International Cricket Council (ICC) President.

Kamal had shown his disregard for an umpiring decision during the India vs Bangladesh ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 quarter-final match, wherein the Indian opener Rohit Sharma was declared not out even after being caught, as the umpires felt and decided that the ball was above the waist height and was not good enough to be a legal delivery.

He being the ICC President had come out publically stating that the decision was incorrect and that the ICC was favoring India in the tournament. The International council CEO had to clear their stand and said it was Kamal’s personal opinion and that the ICC neither subscribed it nor advocated any of its Presidents, members and others to give such statements.

Apart from it, he was also furious at the ICC Chairman N Srinivasan handing over the World Cup winners’ trophy to Australia while it was the right of the ICC President to do that. Kamal  had in past referred ICC as Indian Cricket Council and said that he will reveal a lot of things that are happening in the international governing body when he returns back home to Bangladesh.

Mustafa Kamal has almost 30 years of political and cricket governing experience with him and has held positions of the President of Asian Cricket Council and was also the vice-president of the ICC for 2012-2014 term.  And he was the President of the Bangladesh Cricket Board before bring elevated to the ICC President’s post in 2014.
