BCCI mention Mohammed Shami’s Dubai trip in the letter to Kolkata Police

Mohammed Shami is one of India‘s best fast bowlers and has been a regular member of the squad at least in the Test format. However, he has had a torrid time in the past month or so. He is no longer among the pacers in contention for a spot in the limited-overs team. His on-field troubles coupled with off the field controversies seem to be mounting day by day.

His wife Hasin Jahan earlier this month accused him of adultery, torture, attempt to murder, physical assault and even match-fixing to an extent. The complaint was filed with the Kolkata Police and they are investigating the case. They had asked the BCCI to share Shami’s travel schedule and in the report, the board has also mentioned Shami’s stay in Dubai. A team of Kolkata police is also in Uttar Pradesh to find the clues related to the case.

The Board has informed the Kolkata police that Shami was in Dubai for 2 days. “We have received a letter from the BCCI which shows that Mohammed Shami was in Dubai on 17th and 18th February. We are investigating other things related to it,” Joint CP (crime) Praveen Tripathy said to Indian Express.

Shami’s wife has alleged that the cricketer tried to kill her. The police are trying to meet Shami’s family and the doctor who has treated her. A few days ago, his wife had also alleged that he took a bribe from Mohammad Bhai, a businessman from UK and it was handed to him through a Pakistani girl. However, Alishba who was named in the matter by Jahan released her statement and said that she doesn’t know any Mohammad Bhai.

Shami has refuted all claims and has said that he has proof of his innocence. He maintains that he is being falsely framed in the case. The case involves his family and his career and Shami wants the BCCI to investigate and resolve this matter with utmost care.
