‘Believe me people...he’s sucking in the tummy’ – Chris Gayle makes fun of Kevin Pietersen's shirtless picture

Early in May, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) postponed the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) for an indefinite time. The decision was taken after many players and support staff tested positive for the novel coronavirus. Thus, keeping in mind the safety and health of other players and members involved in the T20 extravaganza, the Indian board took the harsh call of halting the league.

After the postponement of the T20 Championship, all the Australian players and other members who were plying their trade in the tournament took a flight to the Maldives as the Australian government has banned the entry of people from India till May 15 in the wake of the havoc created by the second wave of coronavirus cases in India.

Along with the Australian citizens, a few other overseas players also boarded the flight to the Maldives to enjoy a short holiday on the beach. Meanwhile, the former England captain, Kevin Pietersen is also having the time of his life alongside the beach as he posted a couple of photos on his social media handle.

Pietersen was a part of the commentary panel in IPL 2021 and travelled to the Maldives after the suspension of the league. On Saturday, May 8, Kevin posted a shirtless picture of himself on his official Twitter handle. The post attracted the attention of many netizens as they lauded the former English skipper for maintaining his fitness.

However, a comment by West Indies explosive power-hitter Chris Gayle stole all the thunder from Pietersen. The opening batter represented Punjab Kings in IPL 2021 and travelled to the Maldives after the league. Gayle took note of the picture posted by the veteran cricketer and hilariously poked fun at him for his physique.

Making fun of the England skipper, Gayle wrote, “Believe me ppl…he’s sucking in the tummy – it’s actually worst in person you’re the Red list, @KP24, he’s younger than me too!!”
