BPL 2017, Match 7: Rangpur Riders v Chittagong Vikings - Result Predictions

The seventh match of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) will feature Rangpur Riders (RR) and the Chittagong Vikings (CGV) on November 8 (Wednesday). It’ll be interesting to see how the teams handle the clash as they both play their second match of the tournament. The venue, once again, will be the familiar ground of the Sylhet International Stadium, Sylhet.

Thus, they’ll go into the match on a stronger footing than the Chittagong Vikings, who lost a match against the Comilla Victorians on the preceding day. The Chittagong squad will have to aim to register their first win in the tournament and grab the much-needed 2 points in Wednesday’s game.

Rangpur Riders

Having restricted the Rajshahi Kings to an average score of 150-odd runs and chasing it down with an over to spare, the Rangpur Riders have a winning combination on their hands. The openers, Johnson Charles and Adam Lyth will have to fire right away, contrary to the unimpressive scores of 9 and 0 that they put up in the previous match respectively. Batsman-wicketkeeper Mohammad Mithun, Shahriar Nafees, Ravi Bopara and Thisara Perera will provide strength to the middle-order much like they did against the Rajshahi Kings.

The front-line pacers in the form of Lasith Malinga, skipper Mashrafe Mortaza and Rubel Hossain along with spinners, Sohag Gazi and Nazmul Islam can be expected to constitute the bowling attack.

Chittagong Vikings

Misbah-ul-Haq’s team failed to make a mark in their first game, especially with the bat. Openers Luke Ronchi and Soumya Sarkar will have to focus on converting their starts into significant scores in order to provide consolidation to their team’s innings. Dilshan Munaweera, along with Anamul Haque and the captain himself will look to accelerate the team’s scoring rate in the later stage of the game.

Batting all-rounders, Luis Reece and Sikandar Raza can be expected to chip in both departments of the game. The bowling attack can comprise of Taskin Ahmed and Subashis Roy as the seamers and Suhrawadi Shuvo and Sunzamul Islam as the spinners.
