Cheteshwar Pujara joins Yorkshire for the One-Day Cup semi-finals in England
He will play the semi-final against Hampshire today.

Yorkshire’s overseas recruit Cheteshwar Pujara has joined the team ahead of the all-important fixture against Hampshire. The Yorkshire Vikings will take the field against Hampshire in the semi-final of the Royal London One-Day Cup in England. Pujara was with the team before he had to leave for national duty and is back for the second leg of his campaign.
He had featured in 7 matches for the Vikings and scored 370 runs and flew home in between to play the historic Test match against Afghanistan. The Indian team played without skipper Virat Kohli in that game and as a result, Pujara was pushed down the order. KL Rahul walked in at no.3 and the Saurashtra-lad followed him in the line-up. He had a decent game and played some delightful shots in his short stay. He could only score 35 runs but looked in a good flow.
The Test match concluded in just 2 days and thus Pujara had enough time to join Yorkshire Vikings back in time for the game against Hampshire at Lord’s. As soon as he was available for selection team coach Andrew Gale added Cheteshwar Pujara to the playing XI.
Yorkshire posted a tweet with the XI for the game and mentioned that “First XI coach Andrew Gale has added Cheteshwar Pujara, who is back in the UK, and Alex Lees to the squad which claimed a 25-run play-off win over Essex at Chelmsford.”

Pujara also made a post on Instagram to announce his arrival on the big day. He wrote- “It’s a beautiful day at #TheAgeasBowl! Back in cup action with @yorkshireccc for the #OneDayCup semi finals! #CountyStory #YourYorkshire”
