Usually, in cricket, players get injured in several different ways. Thus far, we have seen cricketers hurt themselves in some of the most unique methods possible. Maybe a collision, or slipping while trying to dive are some of these unusual forms. But, have you ever heard of a cricketer getting hurt while sledging? If you didn’t, it actually happened during a domestic game.

Yes, you read it right! During one of the domestic cricket matches, a player sledged so hard after getting a wicket that he dislocated his jaw. Hasting Cricket Club’s Jayden Regan shouted so hard in the celebration that he ended up locking his jaw and was unable to close it. The cricketer was involved in a war of words with Dromana batsman Jeff Bluhm during a game last week. This rivalry carried on as they came face-to-face once again.

Regan’s sole objective was to get rid of Bluhm as soon as possible. Though, the batsman played some great cricket and was going strong on 99. But on the verge of his ton, he hit one into the air and it was Jayden Regan who pouched the catch. He was absolutely pumped with this wicket and was believed to be mouthing ‘yeah’ and ‘finally’ when he dislocated his jaw.

The doctor had to put his thumb in and crack it back

Jayden Regan said that they got a bit too excited and carried out with the usual celebration. But he then felt that he will amp it up and that was when the jaw fell out of its place. “We got a bit excited and started to carry on as you do. And then I thought, nah I’ll give it a bit more and then the jaw just fell out of place,” Regan said as quoted by Daily Mail.

Furthermore, he said that he was screaming when he reached the hospital. The doctor, apparently, had to put his thumb in the back of his mouth and crack it back in. “Once I got to the hospital I was screaming there. They took me straight in and the doctor had to put his thumbs in the back of my mouth and crack it back in,” he added.

When he was back in the ground later, he and his opponent had a laugh about the incident. “He was having a beer and I would have but I couldn’t. We had a bit of a laugh about it and wished each other good luck for the rest of the year,” he concluded.
