The Trinbago Knight Riders will lock horns with the Jamaica Tallawahs in the 6th match of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2020 on 21st August, at the Brian Lara Cricket Stadium in Trinidad.

Both the teams have started their campaign with a victory as the Knight Riders defeated the Guyana Amazon Warriors by 4 wickets in the opening clash of the tournament whereas the Jamaica Tallawahs won comprehensively against the St. Lucia Zouks by 5 wickets.

The bowlers for Trinbago did well to restrict the Guyana Amazon Warriors for 144/7 in a rain-curtailed encounter. Sunil Narine was the best player as he bagged two wickets at a miserly economy before blasting off with a 28-ball half-century during the chase. The Knight Riders are a settled unit and have ample of explosive batsmen in Lendl Simmons, Colin Munro, Kieron Pollard, and the Bravos, Dwayne and Darren.

Jamaica Tallawahs, on the other hand, tasted their first victory courtesy the efforts of Glenn Philips at the top and Rovman Powell and Asif Ali in the middle-order with the latter winning the Man of the Match award for his efforts. The opener Chadwick Walton, however, failed to contribute and so did Nicholas Kirton at No. 3 and they will look to get amongst the runs this time.

Both Carlos Brathwaite and Andre Russell played a quick-fire knock down the order and got a wicket each. However, it was the spinners for the Tallawahs that were the pick as Veerasammy Permaul, Mujeeb-ur-Rehman, and Sandeep Lamichchane bagged 5 wickets between them.

Playing combinations

Trinbago Knight Riders

Sunil Narine and Lendl Simmons will open the proceedings for the Knight Riders and will be followed by Colin Munro at No. 3. Both Simmons and Munro got off to starts in the first match but were not able to convert it and will hence look forward to going big.

The Bravo brothers and Kieron Pollard will form their middle-order alongside Tim Seifert and Sikandar Raza, both of whom missed out in the last match. Ali Khan, who got a solitary wicket with the ball, kept things tight as did Fawad Ahmed, though he went wicket-less. Jayden Seales and Dwayne Bravo were expensive, however, both are expected to play this match given their abilities.

Predicted XI- Sunil Narine, Lendl Simmons, Colin Munro, Tim Seifert (WK), Darren Bravo, Kieron Pollard (C), DJ Bravo, Sikandar Raza, Fawad Ahmed, Ali Khan, and Jayden Seales.

Jamaica Tallawahs

Glenn Philips will look to continue with hisgood run at the top whereas his opening partner Chadwick Walton will aim to perform after a rusty start. Nicholas Kirton is expected to come in at No. 3 like the previous match.

Their middle-order will comprise Rovman Powell, Asif Ali, and all-rounders Andre Russell and Carlos Brathwaite. Any change in the bowling unit looks unlikely and therefore spinners Veerasammy Permaul, Sandeep Lamichhane, and Mujeeb Ur Rehman are all expected to play.

Oshane Thomas bowled only a couple of overs in the last game and failed to make an impression. Though he will certainly be given another chance.

Predicted XI- Chadwick Walton (WK), Glenn Philips, Nicholas Kirton, Rovman Powell (C), Andre Russell, Asif Ali, Carlos Brathwaite, Mujeeb ur Rahman, Sandeep Lamichchane, Veerasammy Permaul, and Oshane Thomas.
