VVS Laxman part of Cricket Advisory Committee constituted by HCA

The committee will provide valuable guidance and suitable recommendations to the Apex Council for furthering the cause of the Hyderabad Cricket.

The Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) has taken a very big step towards making the state association a more efficient administrative body. T Shesh Narayan, the Secretary of the HCA, officially announced that they have constituted an Advisory Committee to help the state association make key calls in the cricket administration in the state.

The decision to do so was taken at the Apex Council Meeting of the Hyderabad Cricket Association during its meeting held on 12th April 2017. In the meeting, the HCA had requested former Indian cricketer Mr. VVS Laxman, Mr. S L Venkata Pathi Raju and Ms. Purnima Rau to be part of the Cricket Advisory Committee of the Hyderabad Cricket Association.

Much to the delight of the association, the three people were gracious enough to have immediately given their acceptance to be part of the said Committee. The committee will provide valuable guidance and suitable recommendations to the Apex Council for furthering the cause of the Hyderabad Cricket.

A delighted VVS Laxman expressed his happiness over the assigned position. As per the press release, the former Indian cricketer said – “I am very happy to be a part of this Committee which is a right step to strengthen and shape the future of Hyderabad Cricket”.

Mr. S L Venkata Pathi Raju was also happy to be serving the state association. Venkata Pathi Raju quoted – “Indeed, it is our privilege to assist the recently formed Apex Council in Cricket matters and I sincerely hope that we collectively work to regain the old glory of the Hyderabad Cricket”.

Lastly, Ms. Purnima Rao spoke on the same and responded with the quote –  “By including me as a part of the Advisory Committee it is very obvious that Women’s Cricket is a priority for the newly formed Apex Council and I will extend all support and promote the cause of Women’s Cricket in Telangana”
