Game 24 of the ODI World Cup 2023 will feature a clash between Australia (AUS) and the Netherlands (NED) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Wednesday, October 25. After a subpar start to the tournament, it seems like the Men in Yellow have finally found their rhythm, as they will be coming into the game after back-to-back wins.

Australia will be keen on putting in a similar performance against the Netherlands, as they simply cannot afford any more slip-ups. As the game approaches, it could be interesting to see how the Australian lineup fares in Game 24.

Here's Australia’s Predicted XI against Netherlands:

Openers: David Warner, Mitchell Marsh

Once again, with some risk still associated with Travis Head’s return, Australia will be opting for David Warner and Mitchell Marsh as the openers. Both batters will be coming into the clash on the back of fabulous performances in the previous clash. Australia took on Pakistan in their last game, and David Warner came away with a fabulous knock of 163 runs in 124 deliveries. The Men in Yellow will hope for a similar knock from him against the Netherlands.

On the other hand, ace batter Mitchell Marsh put in a similar performance in Australia’s previous game as well. Scoring 121 runs in 108 deliveries, Marsh was one of Australia’s best performers. As the clash against the Netherlands approaches, it could be interesting to see how the openers fare.

Middle Order: Steve Smith, Marnus Labuschagne, Josh Inglis (WK)

Australia’s middle order will consist of some of the best batters, as Steve Smith will look to take centre stage after the fall of a wicket. Revered as one of the best batters of the generation, Smith needs no introduction; despite scoring just seven runs in his last game, the ace batter will be keen on putting his foot on the pedal.

Marnus Labuschagne had an outing to forget when Australia took on Pakistan in their previous game as well. Despite being one of the most influential batters in the side, Labuschagne only managed to score eight runs before he was sent back to the pavilion. He will look to heavily improve against the Netherlands.

Josh Inglis will once again reprise the role of wicketkeeper, scoring 13 runs against Pakistan. Inglis failed to go big as well. However, the entire Australian middle order will be desperate to improve in their forthcoming clash.

All-Rounders: Marcus Stoinis, Glenn Maxwell

Marcus Stoinis is a significant part of Australia’s all-rounder lineup. With 21 runs and two wickets in his previous game, Stoinis was influential for Australia against Pakistan, especially with the ball. As the game against the Netherlands approaches, Stoinis will look to put in a similar performance.

Veteran Glenn Maxwell failed to perform in Australia’s last game as well. Getting out on a duck and failing to take any wickets, the 35-year-old will be desperate to improve, and it could be interesting to see what changes he will look to make.

Bowlers: Pat Cummins (C), Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Adam Zampa

Skipper Pat Cummins will be keen on leading from the front against the Netherlands. Taking two wickets, Cummins was fabulous for Australia against Pakistan, and he will look to put in a similar spell against the Scott Edwards-led Netherlands.

Mitchell Starc, acting as the spearhead of the pace attack, could be one of the biggest threats to the Netherlands. Taking one wicket against Pakistan, Starc’s spell could prove to be quite a threat to the opponents, and it could be interesting to see how he fares against the Netherlands.

Josh Hazlewood could be the third pacer in the side, bowling exceptionally well against Pakistan, Hazlewood’s spell was excellent, as he took one wicket and conceded just 37 runs in 10 overs.

Adam Zampa’s performance could be one that many eyes will be on. Taking four wickets in his previous game, Zampa was sensational against Pakistan, and the Netherlands will look to be wary of his spell.
