With numerous players having played the cash-rich league, there have been quite a few who have announced retirement due to circumstances this year in 2022. It pertains to the IPL wherein some big names have bid farewell from the league this year ahead of the new season.

4. Robin Uthappa
The former India international announced his retirement from all forms of Indian cricket in September 2022. The swashbuckling right hander has been one of the finest cricketer’s team India has ever produced who has gone on to win a few IPL titles as well.
Uthappa has represented franchises such as the Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Rajasthan Royals, and Pune Warriors India during his stint in IPL. The right hander has always been a delight to watch with his most recent outing in the league came for CSK when he was the main stay for the side.
He spent two seasons with the Chennai franchise having scored 345 runs in 16 matches, including a crucial knock in the final of IPL 2021 against his former team KKR. Uthappa has two IPL titles under his belt, one with KKR in 2014 and 2021 with CSK.
