3. Akeal Hosein

The West Indies spinner Akeal Hosein has set his base price at INR 1 crore. The Caribbean bowler has played plenty of franchise cricket, including the Caribbean Premier League, where he leads the bowling attack of Trinbago Knight Riders. The 29-year-old has been fine for the West Indies too, with 25 scalps in 32 matches at an economy of 7.03.

In 2021, he played his first T20 World Cup and emerged as the best bowler for the West Indies with five wickets in as many matches at an economy of 7.00. Given his experience in both franchise and international cricket, MI and CSK might go into a bidding battle for him.

Last season, spinners Murugan Ashwin and Mayank Marakande could not deliver for MI and they have been released ahead of the auction. Therefore, the franchise might find Hosein as a perfect replacement to lead their spin attack. Speaking about CSK, Ravindra Jadeja and Moeen Ali solidify the spin department with their presence, but the addition of Hosein could improve the spin department.
