Bangladesh and team India are set to lock horns in the second and final Test match scheduled to be played on December 22 at the Sher-E-Bangla Stadium in Mirpur. Stand-in skipper KL Rahul led team India in the previous contest wherein the side registered a victory and thereby taking the lead 1-0 in the two-match red-ball series.

The Sher-E-Bangla National Stadium will host the five-day match as which has a surface that remains flat throughout the contest. However, the pitch will also assist the spinners as it was seen in the two ODIs played previously in the venue a few weeks ago.

23 matches have been played in this stadium and the pitch yields an average score of 341 runs for the teams batting first. Furthermore, towards in the second, third and fourth innings, the pitch tends to get slower as it has an average score of 317, 231 and 180 runs respectively. Pacers will get movement in the first few overs with the new ball but it is the spinners who will look to make the most from the pitch due to the advantage.

Team India will look to dominate with another win

The KL Rahul-led side are currently leading the series with a score-line of 1-0, however, another result in their favour will see them clinch the series. The side is also in contention for a spot in the finals of the ICC World Test Championship 2021-23 cycle and a win in the previous contest has boosted their chances of progressing.

Interestingly, Australia dominating against South Africa in their bilateral series has also played a vital role in India’s qualification for the finals. It is so because, the Aussies, India and South Africa are three sides in contention for the two spots of the summit clash.

With Australia winning their fixture against the Proteas coupled with India’s win has handed the latter a major boost in inching closer to the summit clash. In any case, the Indian side will be looking for a win in their final Test match when they take the field on December 22 in Mirpur.
