Cricket West Indies (CWI) has taken a significant step towards gender diversity and inclusivity by appointing three women to its board of directors as independent directors. Diann Campbell and Louise Victor-Frederick join as new appointees, while Debra Coryat-Patton returns to the board, bringing a wealth of expertise to guide the organization.
The move aligns with CWI President Kishore Shallow's longstanding advocacy for diversity and inclusion. "Since the beginning, I've advocated for diversity and inclusion within CWI to ensure fairness both on and off the field, this appointment is a natural progression of our ongoing commitment," CWI President Kishore Shallow said in a release.

Campbell, a distinguished Jamaican cricket administrator with nearly three decades of experience and knowledge, will leverage her expertise in cricket administration, corporate governance, and organisational development to benefit CWI's strategic initiatives.
"Her expertise in cricket administration, corporate governance, and organizational development will greatly benefit CWI's strategic initiatives," the CWI release stated.
Joining Campbell is Louise Victor-Frederick, a seasoned branding and communications strategist from Saint Lucia. Debra Coryat-Patton, who previously served on the board from 2019 to 2021, returns to bring her in-depth expertise. "Invaluable legal expertise to the CWI Board," the release read.
In addition to these appointments, Barbadian entrepreneur Hallam Nichols has been reappointed as an independent director and will continue to serve on the CWI stakeholders relations committee.
Shallow expressed enthusiasm about the new appointees, stating, "Their diverse backgrounds, extensive experience, and unwavering commitment to excellence will undoubtedly strengthen our organization and contribute to the advancement of cricket in the West Indies."
The CWI president also took the opportunity to thank the outgoing independent directors, Manniram Prashad and Gail Mathurin, for their contributions and service to West Indies cricket, noting that their involvement and impact will continue in other capacities.
"I wish to express gratitude to Manniram Prashad and Gail Mathurin for their contributions and service to West Indies Cricket. We anticipate their continued involvement and impact in other capacities," he concluded.
