Ravindra Jadeja's performance at his home venue Rajkot is nothing short of legendary. With insane numbers across both Ranji Trophy and Test cricket, Jadeja's dominance at the ground caught the attention of his former coach Ravi Shastri.

As Jadeja approached his century during the third Test against England at the Niranjan Shah Stadium, Shastri couldn't help but appreciate the all-rounder's capabilities and his stellar record at the venue. "Look at that average. He (Ravindra Jadeja) could make even Don Bradman look from the above," Shastri, said on commentary.

Ravindra Jadeja scores a brilliant century at his home ground

Before stepping onto the crease in a challenging situation for India, Jadeja had an impressive average of 135 in the 17 matches he had played at the venue. His tally of 1501 runs included four centuries, with a remarkable career-best score of 331, along with five half-centuries.

Jadeja continued delivering outstanding performances at this venue as he notched up another century. The ongoing one is his third international red-ball match at the venue. India were struggling at 33/3 against a potent English bowling attack when Jadeja rose to the occasion. Partnering with skipper Rohit Sharma, he displayed composure and maturity, guiding India through a crucial period. Jadeja's resilience and skill were evident as he tackled both pace and spin with equal ease and his partnership of 204 runs with Rohit put India in a better position.

Despite Rohit's dismissal, Jadeja continued to excel, forming a crucial partnership with Sarfaraz Khan. While Jadeja was eyeing an even bigger score on Day 2, he was caught and bowled by Joe Root early on the second day. The 35-year-old scored 112 runs in 225 deliveries including nine boundaries and two sixes.
