India and England concluded their five-match Test series with the hosts clinching the series by winning four out of the five matches. Putting in a dominant performance, there were many players who stood out in the series, with youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal making quite the name for himself.

The 22-year-old was selected as the Player of the Series as he scored 712 runs in nine innings, maintaining an average of 89. His performances impressed former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif. In the same vein, Kaif came forward to laud Jaiswal for his showing against England and opined that he should start getting more opportunities in white-ball cricket.

“The sample size is very small but we have been seeing Jaiswal for many years. We have seen him in the Ranji Trophy and the IPL. He played splendidly in the IPL and he is an incredible player," Kaif said on the Star Sports show named Follow The Blues.

"He has not yet made his ODI debut. Give him an ODI debut as well. He is an all-format player, whether you talk about ODIs, T20s or Tests. As a batter, he has both defensive and attacking techniques, when he makes up his mind and if it is required, he can go from the first to the sixth or seventh gear. Hitting Anderson for three sixes in three balls in a Test match shows how capable a batter he is," Kaif added.

He didn't look flustered at all: Kaif

Furthermore, Mohammad Kaif heaped praise on Yashasvi Jaiswal, stating that he stuck to his game despite the circumstances and played every bowler with ease, whether it was Anderson or anyone else. It is worth noting that Jaiswal scored two double-centuries and three half-centuries in the five-game series and dominated England’s bowling attack throughout.

"He didn't look flustered at all, whether it was Bazball, or either Anderson or any bowler in front of him. It's not easy for a youngster to use his game plan so well but Jaiswal showed that by doing it," Kaif said.
