I don’t compromise my strike rate for runs: Jitesh Sharma

In the first T20I of the three-match series against Afghanistan, Jitesh Sharma played a brilliant cameo of 31 runs off 20 deliveries, which helped India win the match by six wickets. He has become one of the regulars for India in the T20I set-up and has done a remarkable job so far in the shortest format. If he keeps up with the momentum, the stumper-batter can very well earn his ticket for the upcoming T20 World Cup, which is slated to begin on June 1. 

Meanwhile, speaking about his impactful knock in Mohali, the 30-year-old mentioned that he doesn’t compromise on his strike rate while batting. He mentioned that T20 cricket demands the players to be aggressive, and he aims to sail the same boat. The Amravati-born cricketer also added that he failed to finish the game in the first T20I but promised trying to stay till the very end in the coming times.

“I don’t compromise my strike rate for runs. I always go for strike rate. It is the demand of the game. I think the runs I score will make it easier for the upcoming batters, who are yet to bat, so that’s my goal,” Jitesh said while talking to JioCinema.

“My focus now will be to finish the games. I want to help the team win. I love finishing the games but nowadays, I am not finishing, but I promise I will finish games,” Jitesh added.

I don't think a lot while batting, just react to the ball: Rinku Singh

India's middle-order sensation Rinku Singh once again played an impactful cameo of 16* runs off nine deliveries. He helped the Indian team cross the line and after which, the batter stated that he loves to keep calm on the field. He once again spoke of the lessons he learned from MS Dhoni and added that he has now got a habit of batting at number six.

“I have got a habit of batting at 6 and finishing games, I'm feeling very happy with this job. Enjoyed the cold conditions, it was tough while fielding though. I just try to talk to myself, batting at 6, I don't have the chance to face too many balls or score too many runs, that's the thing I keep telling myself. I've spoken with Mahi bhai (MS Dhoni), he just told me to react according to the ball, keep your calm and I just do the same thing. I don't think a lot while batting, just react to the ball,” Rinku said.
