Arjun Tendulkar has said that he is completely in favour of run-out at the non-striker's end, however he himself would refrain from indulging in it. After the MCC amended the cricket rule book ilast year, such run-outs have been removed from ‘unfair play’ and are now a valid mode of dismissal. However, the debate continues on whether such dismissals are in line with the 'spirit of the game' or not.

“I’m completely in favour of Mankading. It’s in the Law. For the people who say it’s against the spirit of the game, I disagree," Arjun told CricketNext.com.

The 23-year-old explained he won’t be able pull off such a dismissal as he can’t stop and remove the bails in his run up, which would hamper the momentum of his bowling run up.

"I personally won’t do it because I can’t stop and remove the bails in my run up. It’s too much effort and I won’t waste my energy in it but if someone does it, I’m in favour of it,” Arjun said.

Running the non-strikers has been an issue that has been in focus recent times, especially after MCC's rule change. In the past, the likes of Ravichandran Ashwin and Deepti Sharma have earned praises and faced backlash as well by pulling off a run out at the non-striker’s end.

On the other hand, India skipper Rohit Sharma recently withdrew an appeal for such a run out after Mohammed Shami ran Dasun Shanaka out at the non-striker’s end for backing up too far, while he was batting on 98 against India in the first ODI of the recent series.

Earlier this month, Australia leg-spinner Adam Zampa also attempted to run out Tom Rogers at the non-striker's end during a BBL game. However, the batter was declared not out by the third umpire as Zampa had finished his action before running Rogers out.
