The T20 buzz is all set to return to Indian shores as the IPL auction for the 16th edition of the tournament is scheduled to take place on December 23 in Kochi, Kerala. Ahead of the marquee event, a total of 87 players were released by various franchises as most of them are eyeing to revamp their squad for the next edition.

Considered to be the most celebrated T20 competition, the Indian Premier League has produced several top-notch cricketers in the past 15 years. It has truly lived up to its slogan as talent has indeed met with opportunities so far in the history of the competition. Courtesy of their brilliant performances in the league, players like Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan and Harshal Patel made their international debut and in the coming years, the trend is likely to continue.

For the next season, a total of 991 players originally registered for the cash-rich league but only 405 players will go under the hammer. Out of which, a maximum of 87 slots are available to be filled by the 10 franchises.
