MS Dhoni, members of Chennai Super Kings indulge in Holi celebrations at Chepauk

With the Indian Premier League (IPL) returning to the home-away format, players of many teams have already gathered at their home ground and have started preparing for the tournament which is set to begind from March 31. The season opener will witness defending champions Gujarat Titans hosting four-time champions Chennai Super Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

CSK have begun their preperations for the upcoming 16th edition of the tournament at their home ground Chepauk. On the auspicious day of Holi, the festival of colors, members of the CSK squad indulged themselves in the celebrations. 

CSK, on Wednesday, uploaded a video on their official social media handle the players and members of the staff had a fun time, but what grabbed attention was skipper MS Dhoni trying to escape and save himself from the color barage.

GT will take on CSK in IPL curtain raiser

The fans are eagerly waiting to watch Dhoni play in the IPL 2023, as the former Indian cricketer continues to practice for the T20 event. The IPL is the only platform where Dhoni is seen in complete action as the legendary wicketkeeper-batter called time on his international career in August 2020.

The world champion will be playing the first IPL match in Chennai after a three-year gap amid COVID-19 restrictions and the fans surely can't keep calm. While speaking on Star Sports following the announcement of the IPL 2023 schedule, former Australia opener Matthew Hayden talked about the reception Dhoni will receive when he walks onto the field at Chepauk for the IPL 2023.

"It will be an amazing moment. I think last year, we were all under the impression that will MSD come back again. At the close of the IPL season, he made that huge comment to say that he will be back. Now, what that means for all that Yellow Army is that Chennai suddenly galvanized a tad around the superior leader, who has done it for so long. This will, most certainly, I think, be the close of his IPL career. So, those few games at the start are not only going to be key for the fans, his performance is also going to be key for CSK this season," Hayden said.
