WPL 2023: RCB players indulge in jamming session with singer-composer Prateek Kuhad

Ahead of their heavyweight clash against Gujarat Giants in the ongoing Women’s Premier League, Royal Challengers Bangalore's women cricketers enjoyed a private concert of singer Prateek Kuhad. The 33-year-old who has become one of the recent sensations of the music industry performed many of his songs, including Kho Gaye Hum Kaha, Cold Mess, Kasoor, and Tum Jab Pas.

In a video shared by the franchise on its social media platform, leading members of the team including Smriti Mandhana and Kanika Ahuja could be seen singing with Prateek and having a soothing time together. Foreign players like Ellyse Perry and Sophie Devine too enjoyed his music as they later stated.

“That was amazing. Prateek is one full artist and it was super nice to sit and really chill on the bean bags and listen to him play some awesome songs. So yeah, it was such a nice night,” said Perry in a video shared by RCB on their socials.

“It was a beautiful evening. We all have heard a few of Prateek’s songs and really good to have him and yeah, I think all the girls enjoyed it. Made it a good evening today,” skipper Smriti Mandhana added as she also gifted RCB's jersey to Prateek.

RCB keep themselves alive in the tournament with much-needed win

After suffering five defeats in a row, Bangalore finally managed to register their first win of the season in their last match against UP Warriorz. Courtesy of the solitary win, they are still alive in the competition but the team cannot afford to drop any more points going forward. They will also have to improve their net run rate (NRR) as it has a high chance of coming into the picture if the team manages to win their remaining fixtures.

Meanwhile, one positive for the franchise is that the middle order finally seems to be clicking as youngsters Richa Ghosh and Kanika Ahuja are finally showing the kind of damage they are capable of inflicting. However, Smriti Mandhana’s form is still a matter of concern. The 26-year-old has struggled to play the spinners and that needs to change urgently as RCB move into the business end of the tournament.

RCB will lock horns with Gujarat Giants on March 18 in the 16th match of the tournament as both sides desperately look for a win in order to keep their campaign alive in the ongoing WPL.
