India and England will square off against each other at the Adelaide Oval on November 10, Thursday for the second semi-final match of the T20 World Cup 2022. The two teams will be in good form and are backed with a win from their previous Super 12 game. While India have not won the tournament since its inaugural edition in 2007, England last won the title in 2010.

India topped their group stage with eight points and made their way into the knockout stage, whereas England finished second in their group. The two teams last faced each other in July when India toured the UK. India won the T20I series by 2-1, but England put up a tough fight. The intricacies of the teams have changed since then and it will be a competition worth watching.

As for India’s batting unit, Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav are in great form, and even KL Rahul has put up good performances in the previous two games. Arshdeep Singh has been India’s most consistent bowler this tournament and has proved his worth in the game. His ability to swing the ball both ways has been very critical for India’s bowling attack.

England will be in a bit of trouble, as the inclusion of Dawid Malan and Mark Wood are doubtful as the two injured themselves during the campaign. The openers- Jos Buttler and Alex Hales would be looking to give a strong start to their side and keep the team in a comfortable position. Both teams have a very formidable lineup which will make the contest even more interesting.

Pitch Conditions

The pitch at the Adelaide Oval is a real head-turner. The batters' ability to immediately advance across the boundary in their innings is made possible by the manner the ball enters the bat. On this surface, a total between 170-180 can be a winning one. A high-scoring game can be expected there if the playing field is kept in good condition during the tournament.

India

Rishabh Pant has proven effective against England, and given the batter-friendly conditions at the Oval, India would look to continue with Pant instead of Dinesh Karthik. The Men in Blue are unlikely to make any changes to their playing combination.
