The 17th match of the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2024 will witness an exciting clash between Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Sunday, March 10.

Delhi Capitals have had a memorable campaign so far as they are sitting at the top of the table, having won four and lost two of their six games. After losing to Mumbai Indians in the curtain raiser, the Capitals went on to win all four games until losing a close contest in their last match against UP Warriorz by just one run. Though they are on top of the table, the upcoming clashes are not pushovers and Capitals will be looking to bring their A-game on the field.

Meanwhile, Royal Challengers Bangalore have done decently in WPL 2024, having won three games and suffering three losses out of the six they have played. The Bengaluru-based team are coming off a defeat against the Gujarat Giants Women. Though RCB-W were alive in the run chase but fell short by 19 runs against Beth Mooney-led side.

Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore squared off earlier in the tournament in February. The Delhi-based franchise posted a big total of 194/5 in their 20 overs at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Shafali Verma and Alice Capsey both contributed immensely to the total with the help of the lower-order batters. In reply, Bangalore was restricted to 169/9 in their allotted 20 overs and the Capitals managed to register a comfortable 25-run win.

Arun Jaitley Stadium Pitch Report:

Arun Jaitley Stadium is challenging for batters at the start of their innings. However, as they spend more time at the crease, they can escalate their scoring rate. The powerplay overs are crucial, as batters can maximize their scoring when the ball is new and fielding restrictions are in place. Once the ball becomes old and the field will spread out, batting becomes increasingly difficult. The surface tends to offer a slow pace, allowing spinners to capitalize on the conditions. The captain winning the toss should opt to bowl first.

Probable Playing XI:

Delhi Capitals Women:

Delhi might not look to make any changes to their side as it's the business end of the tournament and with knockout matches just a few days away, the Capitals will bank on their regular playing XI.

Predicted XI: Meg Lanning (c), Shafali Verma, Alice Capsey, Jemimah Rodrigues, Annabel Sutherland, Jess Jonassen, Arundhati Reddy, Radha Yadav, Shikha Pandey, Taniya Bhatia (wk), Titas Sadhu

Royal Challengers Bangalore Women:

Though Bangalore faced a defeat in their last game, they had some key players performing for them. Bangalore hasn't made many changes to their side throughout the tournament and the upcoming clash is an important one for them and they would want their main set of players to put their hand up.

Predicted XI: Smriti Mandhana(c), Sabbhineni Meghana, Ellyse Perry, Richa Ghosh(wk), Sophie Devine,  Sophie Molineux, Georgia Wareham, Ekta Bisht, Simran Bahadur, Asha Sobhana, Renuka Thakur Singh
