IPL 2024: Stats Review: MS Dhoni's 300th dismissal, Lowest strike rate in an innings for CSK and other stats from DC vs CSK

In the 13th match of IPL 2024 held at the YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam, Delhi Capitals defeated Chennai Super Kings by 20 runs. 

Opting to bat first, Delhi Capitals were fired by David Warner (52 off 35) and Rishabh Pant (51 off 32) to post 191/5. Matheesha Pathirana(4-0-31-3) ensured that the Capitals remained below 200. 

In response, Khaleel Ahmed (4-1-21-2) removed both Ruturaj Gaikwad and Rachin Ravindra in the powerplay and CSK's chase never recovered from there. Ajinkya Rahane (45 off 30) and Daryl Mitchell (34 off 26) set to work rebuilding the innings but the required rate never looked like it was going down. MS Dhoni (37 off 16) fought valiantly in the death overs but it was too little too late as CSK only managed 171/6.

5 - Delhi Capitals are now the 5th IPL team after Deccan Chargers, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Mumbai Indians and Rising Pune Supergiant to play a designated home game at Visakhapatnam. 

1 - Delhi Capitals' powerplay total (61/0) and their halfway total (95/1) were both the highest at that stage of the innings in Visakhapatnam, but their final total of 191/5 was only the third highest. 

3 - David Warner became the third player to score 6500 runs in IPL history. He was also the fastest to get to the milestone. 

350 - During his 16-ball 37, MS Dhoni hit four fours and three sixes. This propelled him past the IPL milestone of 350 fours, which he is the 17th player to get to.

300 - In this match, MS Dhoni became the first wicketkeeper in the world to effect 300 dismissals in T20 cricket. 

35 - Ajinkya Rahane became the 35th player to hit 100 sixes in the IPL

8 - This was the 8th instance in IPL history when MS Dhoni remained not out in a chase but his team lost anyway.

16.67 - Excluding all ducks, Rachin Ravindra(2 off 12)'s strike rate of 16.67 was the worst in an IPL innings for CSK.
