The cricketing trends in Twitter today was all about the Rio Olympics that started today in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Indian Test skipper Virat Kohli put out a special video message for the Indian contingent for the Olympic games. Leg-spinner Amit Mishra also joined him in sending across best wishes to the team.

Former England batsman James Taylor praised Joe Root’s batting effort that held things together for the team after they lost skipper Alastair Cook and Alex Hales early in the morning.
