The much-awaited T20 extravaganza– IPL 2020– is all set to hit the floors in September this year. The cash-rich league, in the wake of coronavirus outbreak, was indefinitely postponed on March 29th. But the wait of Indian fans is finally going to end next month when the tournament unfolds in UAE from September 19th.
Ahead of the cash-rich league, many franchises shared their excitement on Twitter as news regarding IPL 2020 was doing rounds all over the micro-blogging website. One of the most successful franchises of the tournament– Chennai Super Kings– shared a clip of their vice-captain Suresh Raina. He was seen gearing up in a CSK jersey before the action explodes in UAE a month later.
Apart from Raina, cricket fanatics are also waiting to witness CSK skipper brace the field again after staying away from the sport for a year now. Dhoni’s better half Sakshi also shared her picture in a yellow dress to express her excitement regarding IPL 2020.
Newly-appointed Kings XI Punjab skipper KL Rahul also shared a picture with his teammates to indicate the dawn of IPL 2020. Team India and Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli also shared pics with RCB teammates to express his excitement.
In the Governing Council on Sunday, it was decided that the board will be retaining all the sponsors for the upcoming IPL. The BCCI’s move had attracted much criticism as Vivo, a Chinese company, was IPL’s title sponsor. Considering the border tensions between India and China, fans lambasted BCCI for continuing with Vivo and the protest started trending on social media in no time. In the wake of it, Vivo, on Tuesday, announced that they’ve pulled out as the title sponsors of the thirteenth edition of IPL.
