The cricketing trends on the social media platforms revolved mostly around Virat Kohli, the all-format skipper of the Indian cricket team. The Delhi-born batter turned 31 years old and he has been greeted with wishes from every nook and corner of the world. Virat is currently on a break as he isn’t a part of the national team in the three-match T20I series versus Bangladesh where Rohit Sharma is the skipper. He will be back for the two-match Test, which is scheduled to start in a couple of weeks’ time.

In the meantime, Virat was over the moon after being able to visit some divine places with his soulmate, Anushka Sharma, to whom he has been married since December 2017. Indian fast bowler Ishant Sharma had a great time with his wife and other members of his family in Banaras on the occasion of Chhat. Tabraiz Shamsi is looking forward to playing for the Paarl Rocks in the upcoming edition of the Mzansi Super League (MSL). In the same tournament, Chris Gayle will represent the Jozi Stars.

At the Manuka Oval in Canberra, Steve Smith showed his class in the second T20I versus Pakistan. The 30-year-old batsman notched 80 off 51 balls to help his team win by seven wickets with nine balls to spare. In the same encounter, Babar Azam scored his second fifty of the three-match series. Both Smith and Babar drew praises from Michael Vaughan, the former England captain.
