The cricketing trends on social media revolved around a number of events. India, on Wednesday, beat New Zealand in the third T20I at the Seddon Park in Hamilton. The game went into the Super Over as both sides ended on 179. But Rohit Sharma smacked a couple of sixes off Tim Southee to give India an unassailable 3-0 series lead. Former Indian cricketer S Badrinath reckoned that the one-over eliminator shouldn’t have taken place in the encounter.

Mithali Raj, the veteran of the Indian women’s team, heaped praises on Virat Kohli’s Men in Blue for the dominant show in the T20I series. The fourth and final T20I in Wellington and Mount Maunganui are mere dead rubbers. Ahead of the fourth T20I, the likes of Shardul Thakur and Yuzvendra Chahal posted pictures and videos where they can be seen in a jolly mood. Kris Sriikkanth was over the moon after getting the CK Nayudu lifetime achievement award.

Lisa Sthalekar was on cloud 9 after the Sydney Thunder got the better of the Hobart Hurricanes in the Eliminator in the latter’s home-ground. Meanwhile, Mohammad Kaif was elated with the attitude of the New Zealand U19 cricketers. After a West Indies U19 batter developed cramps, the Black Caps players carried him off the park. David Warner posted a picture with wife Candice Warner and reminisced the time when they danced together for the first time.
