Delhi Daredevils (DD) have been facing the heat from all the quarters for their lacklustre performance this season so far. Moreover, their problems compounded after their skipper Gautam Gambhir stepped down from the role and handed over the responsibility to Shreyas Iyer. The move worked soon as they thumped Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 55 runs. However, it seems they just replicated the performance which their title sponsors Daikin want them to do with their tagline #ItsCool.

The air-conditioner brand Daikin is the lead sponsor of the franchise for the fourth successive season and are now using the hype around the T20 extravaganza in order to expand its market base. The franchisee and Daikin agreed for unique on-ground, on-player campaign to drive home the advantage with the message #ItsCool.

Change in the jersey of DD

During their home game against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) on Monday, there was a change in the jersey of Delhi Daredevils (DD). The jersey of the players supported the message #ItsCool, instead of the regular title sponsors – Daikin Air Conditioners. It was nothing but the tagline of their chief sponsor as they tried to experiment to grab the attention of the fans.

KJ Jawa, the MD and CEO of Daikin India, was excited with the unique on-ground and on-player activation which took place for the first time. “This is the first time that players were made part of an on-ground activation by a brand during the entire match. This echoes the brand’s sentiments and its promise of being the coolest AC brand in India. This is yet another way to ‘fill the air with goodness’,’ he was quoted as saying by Inside sport.

“Daikin India has been a valuable partner for DD over the years. It is indeed a cool way to come up with an activation of this nature. The message, we hope, will reach the wider audience in a unique way,” the CEO of Daredevils Hemant Dua said while praising Daikin’s association with them.
