England players are under the radar of the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) Discipline Commission as more players are believed to be out drinking on the night of the Ben Stokes brawl. ECB has already suspended the all-rounder and Alex Hales till further investigations are conducted into the matter. Stokes might have to face the biggest implication of this controversy as his place for the Ashes squad is still in the balance.

Five member discipline commission to  review

ECB are still waiting for reports from the police before coming to a decision. A five-member discipline commission will further review the incident. The panel will scrutinise the matter and will look into the ODI’s team social activities. According to reports, along with Stokes other players also out late drinking were Jake Ball, Liam Plunkett and Jonny Bairstow.

England fast bowler Jimmy Anderson has been given a clean chit in this matter as he was working in Bristol for a TV channel. No curfews have been imposed on the England team during coach Trevor Bayliss’ tenure. Well, this is not the first instance of English players getting pulled up for their indiscipline.

Stokes and Hales already suspended

After the video of punch up incident emerged ECB decided to suspend the star all-rounder Stokes. Along with him, Alex Hales was also suspended till further investigations were conducted. The incident left a man with facial injuries while Stokes was left with a fractured finger. Police are expected to interrogate both Stokes and Hales regarding the unfortunate incident.

The England all-rounder is trying his best to avoid any further controversies. He has maintained a low-profile since the video of the incident has emerged. He is expected to skip the Professional Cricketers’ Association annual awards dinner in central London on Wednesday. If Stokes misses out on the Ashes he would be a huge miss for the England team.
