Dravid Declines BCCI’s Advisory Role, Sparks Speculations of a Rift among the Fab Four: The Fabulous four of Indian cricket which consists of Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid and V.V.S Laxman came to a standstill when Rahul Dravid declined BCCI’s advisory committee role. The decision has caused a stir to a number of speculations from all the corners. Dravid reportedly made himself unavailable for the role citing some personal commitments.

Few days ago, the trio of Indian legends Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and V.V.S Laxman were appointed by the Indian board into a new cricket advisory committee in which they were assigned specific roles for the development of the game in the longer run.

So, far we are brimmed with a variety of rumors regarding the decision which has caused much of a controversy. Many are speculating that this decision is the outcome of the differences between Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid.

“It seems he (Dravid) isn’t comfortable working with Sourav. That’s why his name isn’t on the list,” a BCCI official told the Hindustan Times.

Other officials were quoted as saying that Dravid’s decision was expected. “A cricketer like him wouldn’t want to be involved in a battle of egos,”

Although, the duo of Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid were integral part of Indian team for decades but their their relationship took an havoc turn in the wake of ICC Cricket World Cup 2003 where Dravid was made to keep the wickets. Dravid was never happy with the decision after which he shared a cold vibe with the then captain- Sourav Ganguly.

Even last year during Sachin Tendulkar’s book release, Ganguly had said that Dravid knew about Greg Chappell’s plans to remove him and make Tendulkar skipper again and admitting to not being able to control the coach.

Rahul Dravid denied such claims in an diplomatic manner.
“I haven’t really read the excerpts of that book. Also I am not privy to any private conversation between two individuals. I have not heard about this before and I have no idea what happened and I would not want to make any comment,” Dravid commented to the press during the rehashing of the controversy surrounding the 2007 World Cup.

Since the day, Jagmohan Dalmiya and Anurag Thakur have up taken their respective reigns as the President and Secetary in the BCCI, they were keen to avail the jubilant services of the fabulous four for spotting young talents and guiding the team to glory in alien overseas conditions.

But there are some other speculations doing the round as well according to CricketNext the offer to be a BCCI advisor is due to his job with Rajasthan Royals. He reportedly wants to avoid any conflict of interest.
